About the Role
Global University Systems (GUS) is seeking an experienced, highly analytical, and commercially aware Compliance Officer to strengthen the quality and compliance of student recruitment from Nigeria. GUS is an international network of higher education institutions bringing accessible and industry-relevant qualifications to over 100,000 students worldwide across 150 countries. This strategic market compliance role focuses on risk identification, analysis, quality assurance, and continuous improvement rather than routine visa application processing.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct visa refusal analysis and strategic risk management across the Nigerian student pipeline.
- Perform applicant quality and pre-CAS risk reviews to ensure high standards.
- Monitor agent compliance and performance, identifying those generating disproportionate refusal levels.
- Manage refusal notices, analyze common themes, and maintain an accurate refusal database for trend analysis.
- Communicate significant refusal trends promptly and develop compliance KPIs and dashboards.
- Strong analytical and data interpretation skills with professional judgment for escalating issues.
- Comprehensive understanding of the UK Student visa route and relevant UKVI requirements.
- Experience within international student recruitment, UK higher education, admissions, or compliance.
- Deep understanding of the Nigerian international student recruitment environment.
- Desirable: Experience working directly with UK universities, conducting applicant interviews, or credibility assessments.
