About the Role

Sahara Group, a leading privately-owned Power, Energy, Gas and Infrastructure Conglomerate established in 1996, is recruiting a Community Relations Supervisor to serve as the primary field representative for community engagement across our OML 148 host communities. You will build and sustain productive relationships with community leaders, youth groups, women associations, and local stakeholders while monitoring sentiments and mitigating operational risks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as primary field representative for community engagement activities and facilitate regular engagement sessions to communicate operational updates and company initiatives
  • Build and maintain relationships with community leaders, development committees, traditional institutions, and local stakeholders
  • Monitor community sentiments, emerging concerns, and operational risks with timely reporting to management
  • Support planning, implementation, and monitoring of community development projects aligned with organizational objectives
  • Coordinate grievance resolution and manage community entry protocols for operational teams and contractors
  • Facilitate peaceful resolution of issues affecting operational continuity and support Free-to-Operate (FTO) optimization initiatives
  • Maintain relationships with local government authorities, regulatory agencies, and community-based organizations
  • Prepare comprehensive reports on community relations activities, risks, and mitigation actions while ensuring compliance with HCDT requirements and regulatory obligations

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, Community Development, Political Science, Sociology, Public Administration, Mass Communication, or related discipline
  • Minimum 5-8 years' experience in community relations, stakeholder engagement, or external affairs within the oil and gas industry
  • Prior experience working in Delta State and Niger Delta communities highly desirable
  • Strong understanding of host community engagement and conflict management practices
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and advanced report writing skills
  • Knowledge of Niger Delta community dynamics, conflict prevention, negotiation, and the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA)
