About the Role
Slum2School Africa is a leading volunteer-driven developmental organization dedicated to transforming society by empowering disadvantaged children to realize their full potential. Founded in 2012, we address severe shortcomings in Africa's educational sector by providing educational scholarships, innovative learning spaces, and comprehensive psychosocial support to children living in slums and remote communities.
Key Responsibilities- Build and maintain strong, positive relationships with community leaders, parents, and stakeholders in target slums and indigent areas.
- Mobilize community members and coordinate volunteer networks for outreach programs and educational drives.
- Identify, assess, and onboard vulnerable children eligible for educational scholarships and psychosocial support programs.
- Monitor the progress of beneficiaries within assigned learning spaces and report any developmental or social challenges.
- Organize community-based sensitization workshops, advocacy campaigns, and stakeholder meetings.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure the smooth execution of community projects and interventions.
- Relevant academic qualifications in Social Work, Sociology, Education, Community Development, or a related field.
- Proven field experience in community engagement, social work, or non-profit program implementation within Nigeria.
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and public speaking skills.
- High emotional intelligence, empathy, and passion for child advocacy and education.
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced, dynamic, and sometimes challenging field environments.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and proficiency in local languages will be an added advantage.
