About the Role
American Tower Africa enables partners and communities to stay connected globally through innovative digital infrastructure and real estate solutions. We are currently seeking a proactive and results-driven Community Liaison Officer to join our dynamic team in Nigeria. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in facilitating site builds, managing regulatory compliance, and fostering strong relationships with host communities and government officials.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor and ensure internal processes, policies, and SLAs are followed to secure timely approvals, licenses, and permits for site development.
- Build and maintain beneficial relationships with second and third-tier government officials to advance ATC Nigeria's strategic objectives.
- Handle and resolve community-related issues arising during Build-to-Suit (BTS), Build-to-Fill (BTF), colocation, and special grid connection projects.
- Act as the primary interface between ATC Nigeria, landlords, host communities, and non-governmental stakeholders to mitigate disputes.
- Collaborate with regional technical teams to identify opportunities, assess risks, and ensure seamless project execution at the zonal level.
- Bachelor's degree required; an LL.B. or BL qualification will be a distinct advantage.
- 2 to 3 years of proven experience in government relations, community engagement, and conflict resolution within Nigeria.
- Solid understanding of Nigerian telecommunications, business environments, and regulatory guidelines (including NCA guidelines).
- Familiarity with Landlord and Tenant Law & Practice, as well as the ability to interpret legal and survey documents.
