We are currently recruiting a professional Community Liaison Officer to bridge the gap between our operational field teams and local host communities in Nigeria. In this vital role, you will act as the primary ambassador on the ground, fostering mutual trust, ensuring operational continuity, and driving impactful community development initiatives that align with our corporate values.
Key Responsibilities- Serve as the primary point of contact and communication channel between operational field teams and local host community leadership.
- Proactively identify, mediate, and resolve conflicts or grievances between the organization and community stakeholders to maintain a peaceful operating environment.
- Manage local employment expectations transparently and fairly in alignment with project requirements and company policies.
- Communicate project timelines, milestones, and operational updates clearly to relevant community groups.
- Support the planning, execution, and monitoring of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives that benefit the host communities.
- Facilitate regular stakeholder meetings, town halls, and dialogue sessions to build strong, lasting relationships.
- Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, Humanities, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in community relations, stakeholder management, or public affairs within field operations, preferably in the oil and gas or related sectors.
- Demonstrated expertise in conflict resolution, negotiation, and crisis management within diverse local environments.
- Deep understanding of Nigerian local community dynamics, cultural nuances, and socio-political landscapes.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage effectively at all levels.
