About the Role
INTERSOS is seeking a dedicated Community Liaison Focal Person to serve as our day-to-day project presence across MMC, Jere, and Mafa LGAs in Borno State. In this vital role, you will act as the trusted link between our project team, facility committees, traditional leaders, and local communities to ensure the successful implementation of livelihood and social cohesion initiatives.
Key Responsibilities- Lead community entry, mobilization, and communication initiatives with traditional leaders, religious groups, and displaced populations.
- Support social cohesion activities, tenure audits, landowner consultations, and peace and grievance committees.
- Provide operational and administrative support to Facility Management Committees, ensuring transparent governance and public accountability.
- Conduct weekly facility visits to coach treasurers, monitor record keeping, and track production and maintenance plans.
- Collect routine monitoring data, submit timely activity reports, and manage local feedback and complaints mechanisms.
- Uphold humanitarian principles, safeguarding procedures, and PSEA guidelines across all community interactions.
- OND, NCE, or HND in Social Sciences, Community Development, Agriculture, Business, or a related field; Bachelor's degree is a strong advantage.
- At least 2 years of proven field experience in community mobilization or development with NGOs, UN agencies, or government programs.
- Deep knowledge of local dynamics, traditional structures, and residence in the assigned Borno LGAs.
- Demonstrated experience facilitating meetings with diverse groups, including women, youth, and displaced persons.
- Fluency in Hausa and Kanuri, with good written and spoken English proficiency.
- Basic numeracy, smartphone literacy, and familiarity with mobile data collection tools like KoBoToolbox or ODK.
