About the Role

Lindii Peace Foundation (LPF) is seeking dedicated and enthusiastic Community Hygiene Promoters for a short-term contract across Yola North, Yola South, Fufure, and Girei LGAs in Adamawa State. In this role, you will be instrumental in delivering impactful community-based hygiene promotion activities aimed at improving knowledge, attitudes, and practices regarding safe water, sanitation, and disease prevention.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct engaging hygiene promotion and awareness sessions with targeted households and community members.
  • Mobilize communities to actively participate in environmental cleanliness and sanitation activities.
  • Promote key hygiene practices, including proper handwashing, safe water handling, and correct sanitation methods.
  • Perform household visits to provide tailored hygiene education based on identified community needs.
  • Identify and promptly report WASH-related concerns, water access issues, and sanitation gaps to the supervisor.
  • Engage local leaders, women and youth groups, and WASH committees to foster community ownership of safe practices.
  • Collect accurate activity data, maintain proper records, and submit timely reports.
  • Ensure all activities are inclusive and adhere strictly to LPF safeguarding, protection, and accountability standards.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of a Secondary School Certificate (SSCE); an OND or HND in Public Health, Environmental Health, Social Sciences, or a related field is an advantage.
  • Prior experience in community mobilization, hygiene promotion, health education, or humanitarian WASH programming.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with diverse community groups.
  • Fluency in relevant local languages spoken within the target Adamawa State communities.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively within a dynamic field team.
