About the Role

Nigerdock, West Africa’s leading industrial corporation and marine services provider located in the Snake Island Integrated Free Zone, Lagos, is seeking a results-driven Commercial Specialist. In this vital role, you will support revenue growth, commercial compliance, and exceptional client satisfaction within our terminal operations. You will oversee the complete commercial lifecycle, from proposal preparation and pricing analysis to contract management and revenue assurance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and submit competitive commercial proposals, bids, tenders, pro forma invoices, and tariff estimates for terminal services.
  • Analyze pricing, revenue yields, and margins to recommend strategic tariff adjustments and improve overall profitability.
  • Manage end-to-end client onboarding, including due diligence, credit reviews, and essential legal and commercial documentation.
  • Draft, review, track, and manage renewals of client contracts, lease agreements, and Service Level Agreements.
  • Serve as a primary client contact to promptly resolve enquiries regarding tariffs, terminal access, and operational procedures.
  • Reconcile operational records and manifests against agreed commercial and billing terms to prevent revenue leakage.
  • Monitor cargo residence times, demurrage, and laytime to identify discrepancies and resolve billing disputes proactively.
  • Collaborate closely with Operations and Finance teams to address billing anomalies and variation orders.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Maritime Studies, Supply Chain, Economics, or a related field.
  • 5 to 8 years of proven experience in commercial operations, contract administration, rate estimation, or business development.
  • Prior experience working within maritime terminals, ports, free trade zones, or heavy industrial environments.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, data analysis, financial reconciliation, and commercial reporting.
  • Demonstrated strength in contract drafting, negotiation, stakeholder management, and problem-solving.
