About the Role
FairMoney is a leading digital financial platform in Nigeria that empowers individuals to access instant loans within minutes through our intuitive Android application. We are currently expanding our operations and looking for a dedicated Collections Specialist to join our fast-paced team in driving financial health and portfolio quality.
Key Responsibilities- Plan and execute strategic courses of action to recover outstanding payments efficiently.
- Follow up with customers regarding overdue accounts and diligently monitor Non-Performing Loans.
- Communicate professionally with delinquent borrowers to establish effective, realistic payment plans.
- Engage in active listening to ensure conversations remain focused on successful debt recovery.
- Advise customers on available payment options and recommend the most effective remittance methods.
- Accurately document all customer interactions, negotiations, and agreed-upon payoff deadlines.
- Build positive, professional relationships with debtors to mitigate future repayment risks.
- Minimum of 1 year of operational experience within a microfinance bank, traditional bank, or fintech handling delinquent clients.
- Strong proficiency in negotiation, persuasion, and conflict resolution.
- Solid understanding of the end-to-end debt collection process and strategic approaches.
- Proven working experience in an outbound debt collection, outbound sales, or outbound customer service environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and Google Workspace applications.
- Familiarity or working knowledge of modern collections software is an added advantage.
