About the Role
Unified Payment Services Limited (UP), Nigeria's premier financial technology company founded in 1997, is seeking a skilled Clearing Specialist to provide specialist technical expertise in the design, implementation, and optimization of our clearing and settlement platforms. In this pivotal role, you will drive technical initiatives, ensure platform stability, and support domestic and international payment processing.
Key Responsibilities- Lead complex incident resolution, restore service within SLA, and mentor junior technical analysts.
- Support daily operations of clearing and settlement applications for Mastercard, Visa, AMEX, UnionPay, and domestic schemes.
- Perform approved system configurations, deployments, and support application testing and change management.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, database, and application teams to maintain 99% system availability and zero avoidable control breaches.
- Participate in disaster recovery, business continuity testing, and ensure strict compliance with payment scheme rules.
- Bachelor's Degree or HND in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- 7 to 10 years of relevant experience in clearing, settlement, payment operations, transaction processing, or fintech environments.
- Strong expertise in payment transaction flows, reconciliation, technical troubleshooting, and operational risk controls.
- Relevant certifications such as ITIL Foundation, CCNA, AWS/Azure Fundamentals, or Mastercard/Visa credentials are an added advantage.
