About the Role
Sumscript Schools, widely known as The Mathematics School, is a premier private primary and early childhood educational institution located in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria. We are dedicated to delivering academic excellence by providing a robust foundation in STEM, particularly mathematics, complemented by comprehensive moral training, standard primary education, and extracurricular digital literacy skills. We are currently looking for a passionate and dedicated Class Assistant to join our vibrant learning community and support our educators in delivering exceptional educational experiences to our pupils.
Key Responsibilities- Assist lead teachers in setting up engaging classroom materials, learning aids, and digital tools for daily lessons.
- Monitor student progress and provide individualized support to pupils needing extra attention, particularly in mathematics and STEM subjects.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe learning environment conducive to early childhood and primary education.
- Supervise children during outdoor play, lunch breaks, and extracurricular activities to ensure their safety and well-being.
- Support classroom management by encouraging positive behavior, discipline, and adherence to school moral standards.
- Assist with administrative duties such as grading assignments, recording attendance, and preparing teaching resources.
- Possess a relevant academic qualification, such as an NCE, OND, or equivalent certification in Education or a related field.
- Previous experience working in a school environment, nursery, or primary educational setting is an added advantage.
- Demonstrated passion for child development, early childhood education, and STEM learning principles.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills with the ability to relate well with children and staff.
- Basic digital literacy skills to support modern classroom technology and computer-based learning.
- Residency in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, or willingness to commute reliably to the school location.
