About the Role
Guinea Insurance Plc, a fully restructured and NAICOM-licensed leader in the Nigerian insurance sector, is seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Claims Executive to join our dynamic team at our head office in Jibowu, Lagos. In this role, you will play a vital part in upholding our commitment to delivering excellent insurance services of global standards by ensuring prompt and accurate claims administration, evaluating policy documents, and determining the extent of company liability with utmost professionalism.
Key Responsibilities- Register claim notifications in the core software, open new claim files, and allocate unique claim numbers.
- Verify active policy status and acknowledge claim notifications while requesting necessary supporting documents from claimants or brokers.
- Schedule appointments for post-loss inspections and assist field staff with investigations to ascertain claim validity.
- Interpret policy wordings, analyse claims, and make sound recommendations to the Team Lead regarding company liability.
- Communicate settlement offers within 24 hours of securing relevant approvals.
- Follow up on and collect title documents, recoveries, and salvaged items to minimise claims outlay prior to payment.
- Prepare accurate claim requisitions, payment vouchers, and process service agents' fees.
- Review loss adjusters' reports, coordinate with co-insurers, and compute outstanding losses for the Reinsurance Unit.
- Compile comprehensive weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports on paid and outstanding claims.
- Bachelor's degree in any related discipline.
- Professional certification with the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria (CIIN) will be an added advantage.
- 3 to 5 years of progressive work experience as an Insurance Claims Executive or in a similar claims management role.
- Strong proficiency in verbal and written communication, time management, and organisational skills.
- Demonstrated expertise in claims judgement, business acumen, underwriting principles, and interpersonal relations.
