We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and bilingual Chinese Translator to bridge communication gaps, localize engaging content, and support our growing portfolio of multinational clients in Nigeria and beyond.
Key Responsibilities- Translate written content accurately between English and Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), including marketing collateral, legal documents, website copy, and internal communications.
- Localize all translated materials to ensure cultural relevance, high clarity, and alignment with the target audience's tone and brand voice.
- Proofread and edit draft translations to guarantee impeccable grammar, punctuation, style, and industry-specific terminology consistency.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional departments such as marketing, legal, product, and customer support to clarify complex terminology.
- Maintain, update, and manage translation glossaries, style guides, and terminology databases for future projects.
- Manage multiple localization projects efficiently while consistently meeting tight deadlines without compromising on quality.
- Native or near-native proficiency in Chinese (Simplified and Traditional) alongside complete fluency in English.
- Minimum of 2 to 3 years of proven professional translation and localization experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Translation, Linguistics, Chinese Studies, or a relevant professional equivalent.
- Strong research skills with a deep understanding of cultural nuances across Chinese and Western markets.
- Demonstrated proficiency using Computer-Assisted Translation (CAT) tools such as SDL Trados, MemoQ, or Smartcat.
