About the Role

We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Chief Technologist to head our Laboratory Technical Services at the Paul Odili College of Medicine, located in River Park Estate, Lugbe, Abuja. The ideal candidate will provide robust administrative and technical leadership, overseeing laboratory operations to support top-tier medical education, undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, and cutting-edge research.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate daily laboratory operations and manage technical staff within the College of Medicine.
- Ensure strict adherence to quality control protocols, inventory management, and institutional laboratory safety standards.
- Oversee the maintenance, calibration, and efficient handling of advanced medical and scientific laboratory equipment.
- Support undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, practical sessions, and medical research activities.
- Collaborate with university leadership to improve laboratory infrastructure and administrative processes.
- Possession of a relevant Degree, HND, or equivalent professional qualification in a relevant laboratory discipline.
- Appropriate professional registration and valid licenses where applicable.
- Minimum of 12 years of relevant post-qualification experience in recognized universities, teaching hospitals, research institutes, or medical laboratories.
- Demonstrated expertise in laboratory administration, supervision, and staff coordination.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills, alongside medical fitness to perform laboratory duties.
