About the Role
Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), a prestigious public institution renowned for academic excellence and a vibrant campus community, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Chief Security Assistant. Located in Ile-Ife, Osun State, our vast 11,861-hectare campus encompasses academic units, administrative centers, student residential hostels, staff quarters, a teaching farm, and essential utility infrastructure. We are looking for a qualified security professional to join our team and help maintain a safe, secure, and orderly environment for our staff, students, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise daily security and safety operations across the central campus, residential areas, and university facilities.
- Coordinate emergency response protocols, including fire safety incidents, in collaboration with relevant authorities.
- Enforce university security policies and maintain rigorous patrols to deter unauthorized access and potential hazards.
- Train, mentor, and supervise junior security personnel to ensure high standards of vigilance and professionalism.
- Investigate security breaches, accidents, or safety violations and prepare comprehensive incident reports for management.
- Liaise with local law enforcement and emergency services to ensure rapid response to campus security concerns.
- Must possess five O Level credit passes, including English Language, obtained at one or two sittings.
- A minimum of 9 years of relevant professional security experience, preferably within a large institutional setting.
- Must possess a basic professional Fire Fighting Certificate from a recognized fire service authority.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities with strong crisis management and communication skills.
