About the Role
Godfrey Okoye University Teaching Hospital (GOUNITH), formerly Ntasi Obi Hospital, is a premier university teaching hospital standing at the vibrant intersection of research, education, and patient care. We are currently seeking a talented and dedicated Chief Medical Artist to lead our Medical Illustration Unit. In this role, you will play a crucial part in translating complex medical and anatomical concepts into clear, accurate visual media for education, patient communication, and research publications within our multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities- Create accurate and detailed medical illustrations, diagrams, and animations for surgical procedures, textbooks, and research papers.
- Collaborate with medical professionals, researchers, and educators to conceptualize visual aids for clinical and academic use.
- Manage the daily operations and projects of the Medical Illustration Unit, ensuring high standards of artistic and scientific accuracy.
- Maintain digital asset archives, graphic standards, and multimedia resources for the hospital.
- Integrate modern ICT tools and digital media software to enhance medical presentations and educational materials.
- Must possess a relevant degree in Medical Illustration, Fine Arts, Graphic Design, or a related field with applicable healthcare experience.
- Possession of other professional certificates in medical art or digital media will be an added advantage.
- Must be duly registered with the appropriate professional regulatory body where applicable and hold a valid practicing license.
- Demonstrate significant post-qualification experience and professional competence in medical visualization.
- Exhibit high integrity, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
- Must be fully ICT compliant and proficient in industry-standard design and animation software.
