About the Role

We are currently looking for a skilled and proactive Chief Mechanic to oversee the maintenance, repair, and operational reliability of our company vehicles, machinery, and mechanical equipment. In this vital role, you will ensure minimal operational downtime, strict safety compliance, and maximum efficiency across our fleet and industrial assets.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the comprehensive inspection, diagnosis, repair, and preventive maintenance of company vehicles, production equipment, and heavy-duty mechanical systems.
- Supervise mechanics and maintenance personnel, allocate daily tasks, monitor performance, and ensure the timely completion of all maintenance activities.
- Develop, implement, and monitor robust preventive and corrective maintenance schedules to drastically minimize equipment breakdowns and operational downtime.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all repairs, maintenance activities, spare parts inventory usage, equipment conditions, and operational costs.
- Ensure full compliance with all health, safety, and operational standards while continuously recommending cost-effective solutions to improve equipment reliability.
- Minimum of a Trade Test certificate, OND, HND, or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automobile Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant hands-on experience in mechanical maintenance, ideally gained within an FMCG, manufacturing, or industrial environment in Nigeria.
- Proven track record of supervising junior mechanics and managing the maintenance lifecycle of production equipment, trucks, and heavy-duty vehicles.
- Strong technical expertise in preventive maintenance, advanced mechanical troubleshooting, diagnostics, hydraulics, pneumatics, and modern engine systems.
