About the Role
Remita is a foundational player in the Nigerian payments and fintech ecosystem, processing a significant part of the country's transaction volumes. We help individuals, organizations, and governments to receive and make payments easily. As our Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), you will be the most senior security executive, responsible for defining and owning our information security strategy, cyber risk posture, regulatory compliance framework, and security culture across all technology platforms and business divisions.
Key Responsibilities- Define and own Remita's enterprise-wide information security strategy and roadmap aligned with commercial goals and regulatory obligations.
- Lead and continuously mature the Security Operations Centre (SOC) for 24/7 monitoring, threat intelligence, and incident response.
- Embed security into the software development lifecycle (SDLC) through DevSecOps, SAST, DAST, and application security programmes.
- Own infrastructure security architecture, zero-trust network implementation, and data protection controls across all cloud and on-premise environments.
- Ensure full compliance with CBN Cybersecurity Framework, PCI-DSS, NDPR, ISO 27001, and other relevant financial regulations.
- Provide regular, structured security risk reporting to the Board Risk and Compliance Committee.
- Minimum of 15 years of progressive information security experience, with at least 5 years in a senior executive role within fintech, banking, or payments.
- Deep technical expertise across threat intelligence, incident response, cloud security, application security, and cryptography.
- Strong working knowledge of Nigerian financial regulations including CBN guidelines and the NDPR.
- Internationally recognized security certifications such as CISSP or CISM.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related technical field; a Master's degree is an advantage.
