About the Role
The Federal University of Allied Health Sciences, Enugu (FUAHSE), established on March 14, 2024, is rapidly expanding to meet Nigeria's growing healthcare manpower needs. Evolving from the former Federal College of Dental Technology and Therapy into a dynamic university with six faculties and seventeen departments, FUAHSE is committed to excellence in education and healthcare service delivery. We are currently seeking a strategic and experienced Chief Accountant to lead our financial department and ensure sound fiscal management across the institution.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee the daily financial operations, accounting, and budgeting processes of the university.
- Ensure compliance with public sector financial regulations, statutory requirements, and internal financial policies.
- Prepare comprehensive financial reports, annual budgets, and expenditure forecasts for university management and governing councils.
- Manage payroll systems, tax remittances, audits, and asset tracking to maintain financial integrity.
- Provide strategic financial advice to the university administration to support institutional growth and resource allocation.
- Applicants must possess a Bachelor's degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline from a recognized institution.
- Must be a fully certified member of a recognized professional accounting body such as ICAN or ANAN.
- Demonstrate a minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting experience, with significant leadership experience preferably within a tertiary institution or the public sector.
