About the Role
Tima's Kitchen LP is a dynamic, fast-growing healthy African food brand focused on providing affordable, nutritious, and delicious meals. We combine traditional flavors with a tech-enabled customer experience, offering walk-in services, meal subscriptions, and rewards programs. We are currently seeking a talented and detail-oriented Chef to drive our kitchen operations on Lagos Island, ensuring excellence in every meal we serve.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare healthy and delicious African meals for breakfast, lunch, dinner, walk-in customers, and subscription orders consistently.
- Follow standardized recipes, portion sizes, food presentation guidelines, and daily production schedules accurately.
- Maintain impeccable standards of hygiene, food safety, cleanliness, and kitchen organization at all times.
- Collaborate with management on menu planning, meal preparation, stock checks, and daily kitchen opening and closing routines.
- Work closely with sales and kitchen assistants to ensure orders are accurately packed, labeled, and served promptly.
- Monitor ingredient inventory levels, report shortages proactively, minimize food waste, and properly maintain kitchen equipment.
- Utilize simple digital tools and applications for inventory tracking, order updates, production notes, and daily reporting.
- Demonstrate a calm, professional, and respectful demeanor when working under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Minimum of a National Diploma, catering certificate, hospitality qualification, or SSCE with proven relevant culinary experience.
- Demonstrated professional experience in preparing Nigerian and African cuisine within a restaurant, commercial kitchen, or catering business.
- Highly organized, punctual, hygienic, and capable of following strict operational processes and recipes.
- Tech-savvy with the ability to comfortably use smartphones, POS systems, order apps, WhatsApp, and basic digital inventory tools.
- Comprehensive knowledge of food safety regulations, portion control, meal preparation techniques, and customer service standards.
- Must reside on Lagos Island or in a nearby, accessible location for reliable daily commuting.
