About the Role
Rainoil Limited is a leading downstream oil marketing company in Nigeria with extensive operations spanning tank farm storage, petroleum product distribution, and retail sales. We are currently looking for a dynamic and results-driven Chartering Manager to join our esteemed maritime and logistics team. In this strategic role, you will oversee vessel chartering activities, negotiate competitive charter agreements, and optimize our shipping fleet operations to support our nationwide petroleum product delivery network.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute vessel chartering strategies aligned with the company's business requirements and trading routes.
- Source, evaluate, and secure suitable vessels based on cargo specifications and prevailing market conditions.
- Negotiate charter party agreements, freight rates, hire rates, demurrage, and commercial terms with shipowners and brokers.
- Manage voyage, time, and bareboat charter arrangements efficiently while monitoring maritime market trends.
- Maintain strong professional relationships with shipowners, charterers, port agents, and key industry stakeholders.
- Coordinate seamlessly with Operations, Marine, Finance, and Legal teams to ensure flawless contract execution.
- Monitor vessel performance, voyage schedules, laytime, and resolve any demurrage, despatch, or off-hire claims.
- Ensure all chartering activities strictly comply with applicable maritime regulations, international standards, and company policies.
- Prepare comprehensive chartering reports, cost analyses, and market updates for senior management.
- Minimum of 8 years of proven experience in vessel chartering, maritime operations, or shipping within the oil and gas sector.
- Bachelor's degree in Maritime Studies, Supply Chain, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
- In-depth knowledge of charter party terms, maritime law, shipping economics, and international trade regulations.
- Demonstrated strong negotiation, commercial acumen, and analytical skills.
