About the Role

The British Council is seeking a dynamic and experienced CE FP&A CoE Insights Manager to lead our financial Centre of Excellence in Nigeria. In this vital role, you will ensure high-quality financial data, robust reporting, and process optimisation across regional grant programmes. You will oversee analysts, drive data integrity, and govern the Anaplan grant model while delivering automated insights and dashboards to empower strategic financial decision-making.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the CE financial data and reporting SME, ensuring robust data quality standards, ownership of the Anaplan grant model, and accurate ODA/non-ODA classifications.
  • Oversee cost and overhead allocations across CE, ensuring transparency, compliance, and accurate treatment across firewall and ODA dimensions.
  • Maintain data integrity through rigorous reconciliations between SAP, Anaplan, reporting templates, and regional programme records.
  • Lead standardisation of financial processes, automation initiatives, and internal controls to improve efficiency and consistency.
  • Provide accurate financial information and variance-based performance insights to sector and contract finance leadership.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of finance professionals, fostering an inclusive and collaborative culture.
  • Support BDS compliance, audits, and assurance activities while strengthening data governance and master data structures.

Qualifications
  • Significant experience in financial data analysis, FP&A, management accounting, or a similar finance function.
  • Proven expertise in leading data quality, reconciliation processes, and financial modelling.
  • Strong working knowledge of Anaplan or similar EPM platforms, alongside experience with SAP or ERP systems.
  • Demonstrated success in leading, coaching, and developing small teams within a matrix or multi-country organisational context.
  • Professional accounting qualification (CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent) is highly desirable.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to present complex financial data clearly to diverse stakeholders.
  • Must possess the legal right to live and work in Nigeria, as visa sponsorship and relocation support are not provided.
