About the Role
Sahara Group is a leading privately owned Power, Energy, Gas and Infrastructure Conglomerate established in 1996 with operating companies active in the downstream, midstream, upstream, infrastructure and power sectors. We have a global presence across Africa, Asia, Europe, and the Caribbean. We are currently looking for a driven Category Specialist to manage Administrative, Community & General Services (ACGS) procurement, ensuring seamless operations, robust community relations, and strict adherence to local content standards in Nigeria.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in implementing procurement plans for community infrastructure and development projects, ensuring adherence to quality and delivery timelines.
- Support sourcing activities for CSR and sustainability programs, ensuring compliance with corporate objectives and regulatory standards.
- Conduct supplier identification and qualification for IT, office supplies, HR, facilities, travel, and professional services, ensuring alignment with Nigerian Content requirements.
- Facilitate engagement with local vendors and support empowerment initiatives to promote compliance with local content regulations.
- Provide operational support for digital procurement initiatives, including ERP systems, cybersecurity, and automation projects.
- Coordinate procurement of HSE-related items such as PPE, firefighting systems, and waste management services in line with sustainability goals.
- Assist in managing relationships with NGOs and development organizations to enhance community program delivery.
- Support sourcing and monitoring of community-based security and surveillance services to maintain safe operations.
- Ensure documentation and compliance for regulatory and government-related procurement activities.
- Gather market intelligence and assist in cost benchmarking to support optimization of procurement spend and operational efficiency.
- Bachelor’s degree in any related discipline; Postgraduate qualification (MSc/MBA) in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or Engineering Management is advantageous.
- Professional certifications such as CIPS, APICS/CPIM, or PMI are a plus.
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience in an infrastructure-intensive business or regulated environment.
- Proven experience in strategic sourcing, category management, and supplier management for diverse materials and services.
- Hands-on experience with local and international suppliers, including Nigerian Content (NOGICD) compliance.
- Familiarity with ERP procurement systems such as SAP or Oracle and contract negotiation best practices.
