About the Role
Swift Consulting is seeking a reliable, honest, and customer-focused Cashier to join our client's dynamic team across two locations in Abakaliki. The successful candidate will play a critical role in handling daily financial transactions accurately, attending to customers with utmost professionalism, and ensuring the smooth, transparent operation of the business.
Key Responsibilities- Receive and process customer payments accurately via cash, POS, and other approved payment methods.
- Issue valid receipts and ensure every transaction is meticulously recorded in the system.
- Balance the cash register at the beginning and end of every shift with zero discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate daily transaction records and submit comprehensive financial reports.
- Monitor and promptly report any cash shortages, float discrepancies, or suspicious transactions to management.
- Deliver exceptional, friendly customer service to enhance the overall shopping or service experience.
- Minimum of a Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) or equivalent academic qualification.
- Proven previous experience working as a Cashier or in a similar customer-facing retail role is a strong advantage.
- Strong numerical skills with a proven ability to handle cash with absolute accuracy and integrity.
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with diverse customers.
- High level of honesty, responsibility, and extreme attention to detail.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
