About the Role
Sagar Vitaceuticals Nigeria Limited, a leading household name in the Nigerian healthcare and pharmaceutical industry known for trusted brands like Vitaclox and Vitamox, is seeking a dedicated Capsule Filling Operator for our ultra-modern manufacturing facility in Ikeja, Lagos. In this vital role, you will operate, monitor, and maintain capsule filling equipment to deliver high-quality, affordable healthcare products to the market.
Key Responsibilities- Operate automatic and semi-automatic capsule filling machines in strict accordance with approved SOPs and batch manufacturing records.
- Set up, adjust, and monitor machines to achieve required production specifications and optimal output targets.
- Perform machine and product changeovers, equipment adjustments, and basic mechanical troubleshooting.
- Monitor critical process parameters such as fill weight, powder flow, capsule locking, and rejection rates.
- Conduct in-process quality checks and record results accurately in compliance with Good Documentation Practices.
- Perform routine cleaning, line clearance, and maintenance of production areas to meet rigorous GMP and contamination-control standards.
- Collaborate closely with Production, Quality Assurance, and Engineering teams to resolve deviations and minimize material wastage.
- Minimum qualification of OND, HND, or B.Sc. in Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Technology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 2 to 5 years of relevant hands-on experience in pharmaceutical solid dosage manufacturing, specifically with capsule filling operations.
- Strong working knowledge of GMP, SOPs, and in-process quality controls.
- High attention to detail, strong problem-solving abilities, and a disciplined approach to workplace safety.
- Willingness to work in a controlled environment wearing appropriate PPE and adhering to rotating shift schedules.
