About the Role
SPIE Global Services Energy, a global leader in technical expertise for the oil and gas sector, is looking for a dedicated and skilled Cable Pulling Technician to join our workforce on the BONGA Offshore Project in Lagos, Nigeria. In this critical role, you will play a vital part in maintaining operational safety and facility integrity across our offshore infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities- Read and interpret cable schedules, routing layouts, termination drawings, wiring diagrams, and installation specifications.
- Carry out cable pulling, routing, and installation for power, control, instrumentation, telecom, fiber-optic, fire alarm, and CCTV systems.
- Verify cable routes, tray availability, trenches, and drum specifications prior to execution while adhering strictly to maximum pulling tension and bending radii.
- Dress, arrange, secure, and tag installed cables neatly using approved management materials, ensuring correct circuit separation.
- Ensure full compliance with HSE policies, Operating Procedures, Permit-to-Work (PTW) guidelines, Job Safety Analysis (JSA), and tool box talks.
- Minimum of an HND or B.Sc. Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Technology, or equivalent vocational training with relevant field experience.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of hands-on experience in electrical construction on oil and gas EPC projects, with at least 4-5 years in a supervisory capacity covering cable routing and installation.
- Demonstrated offshore platform, FPSO, or Deepwater project experience is a strong advantage.
- Preferred certifications include CompEx hazardous area certification and Working at Height.
