About the Role
Insolitus Nigeria Ltd, a premier Organisational and Talent Development consultancy based in Lagos, is seeking a passionate and practical Business Studies & Entrepreneurship Teacher. In this sessional role (1-2 days per week starting January 2027), you will teach our mandatory Entrepreneurship and Business Studies curriculum, equipping students to turn their trade skills—such as fashion, catering, cosmetology, and handicrafts—into profitable livelihoods. You will guide learners on how to start, run, and grow small businesses with honesty, sound financial wisdom, and practical enterprise strategies.
Key Responsibilities- Teach practical business concepts including costing, pricing, basic bookkeeping, budgeting, savings, and profit margins.
- Deliver hands-on entrepreneurship lessons focused on opportunity identification, marketing, sales, and customer care.
- Anchor lessons in students' real trades through live projects where they cost, price, and sell their products.
- Instill money wisdom, covering honest dealing, avoiding debt traps, saving cultures, and utilizing basic banking and mobile money.
- Prepare comprehensive schemes of work, engaging lesson plans, practical exercises, and termly assessments.
- Uphold the institution's Catholic ethos and high standards of student conduct.
- Real small-business or enterprise experience (running, advising, or financing small businesses) is strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of teaching or training experience, ideally with young people or adult learners.
- Highly practical and engaging teaching style; candidates must successfully complete a live teaching demonstration.
- Demonstrated patience and the ability to effectively teach students with limited formal schooling.
- Female candidates are preferred given the residential setting, and alignment with the Catholic ethos is essential.
