About the Role
Christian Aid is seeking a strategic and results-driven Business Development Manager for the West and Central Africa region. In this pivotal role, you will lead regional business development efforts, expand our institutional funding portfolio, and forge impactful partnerships to support our mission of eradicating poverty. You will collaborate closely with multi-country cluster teams and global stakeholders to drive donor engagement and secure multi-million-pound grants for vital humanitarian and development programs.
Key Responsibilities- Meet institutional income targets at the Multi-Country Cluster (MCC) level and contribute to overall divisional goals.
- Build and cultivate strategic partnerships with government bodies, multilateral agencies, foundations, and institutional donors.
- Develop high-quality funding proposals, multi-million-pound budgets, and winning bids in coordination with impact and technical teams.
- Grow funding pipelines, identify new programmatic opportunities, and establish robust consortia and implementing partnerships.
- Supervise the onboarding of new programs to ensure seamless integration with regional delivery teams.
- Work closely with contracts and portfolio managers to maintain compliance, high-quality reporting, and accountability standards.
- Represent Christian Aid regionally to strengthen relationships with donor agencies, peer organizations, and key stakeholders.
- Proven track record in securing multiple multi-million-pound grants for NGOs from institutional and multilateral donors.
- Substantial experience building strategic donor partnerships and leading multidisciplinary bid teams for complex grants.
- Advanced knowledge of the international donor funding landscape, humanitarian programming, and compliance frameworks.
- Expertise in project design, monitoring, evaluation, and developing comprehensive grant budgets.
- Demonstrated ability to manage remote teams, coach staff, and collaborate effectively across diverse cultural contexts.
- Fluency in both spoken and written English with exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant education; donor certifications are a distinct advantage.
