We are looking for an ambitious and results-driven Business Development Manager – Risk Assets (Platforms/Business) to lead our strategy, acquisition, and management of risk asset portfolios through innovative platform integrations and strategic partnerships. This pivotal role focuses on scaling our lending operations, mitigating credit risks, and driving sustainable revenue growth within the dynamic Nigerian fintech and financial services sector.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute comprehensive strategies for growing risk asset portfolios through strategic partnerships, platform integrations, and direct business engagements.
  • Oversee the evaluation, approval, and onboarding of partnerships while ensuring all credit opportunities strictly align with the company’s risk management policies and compliance standards.
  • Build and nurture robust relationships with strategic partners, business clients, and financial institutions to secure highly profitable lending opportunities.
  • Lead, mentor, and train a high-performing team of Business Development Officers to achieve departmental and organizational goals.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including credit, risk, compliance, and operations to ensure seamless execution of business initiatives.
  • Conduct continuous market research to identify emerging trends, analyze competitive landscapes, and respond proactively to changing economic conditions.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as portfolio growth, asset quality, loan repayment rates, and overall revenue contributions.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field; an MBA or professional certifications (e.g., CFA, ACCA) are highly preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 to 8 years of proven experience in business development, credit risk management, or related roles within the Nigerian financial services or fintech industry.
  • Deep, practical understanding of credit risk assessment, asset-based lending, and innovative financial products.
  • Demonstrated track record of successfully managing, scaling, and maintaining the profitability of risk asset portfolios.
  • Exceptional leadership, negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a distinct focus on data-driven decision-making and proficiency in CRM tools.
