About the Role
The African Medical Centre of Excellence (AMCE) Abuja, a premier 500-bed specialty hospital developed by Afreximbank in partnership with Kings College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, is seeking an expert Breast Surgeon. In this vital role, you will deliver world-class oncological care, perform complex surgical procedures, and drive clinical excellence in breast health across the African continent.
Key Responsibilities- Diagnose and surgically manage benign and malignant breast conditions, performing mastectomies, lumpectomies, and oncoplastic procedures.
- Lead multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings with oncologists, radiologists, and pathologists to formulate comprehensive treatment plans.
- Conduct outpatient clinics, ensuring empathetic, patient-centred care from diagnosis through recovery.
- Supervise junior medical staff, lead clinical training sessions, and champion departmental equality and diversity initiatives.
- Engage in ground-breaking clinical research, publish findings, and implement global evidence-based practices.
- Maintain strict adherence to hospital governance, patient safety protocols, and international healthcare standards.
- MBBS or equivalent medical degree from a recognised institution.
- Fellowship in Breast Surgery or a related surgical specialty, with certification in Advanced Surgical Oncology.
- Valid medical licence to practise in Nigeria or eligibility for specialist registration.
- Minimum of 7 years of post-specialization experience in breast surgery.
