About the Role
Dabitos Schools is a reputable, private, co-educational learning institution located in Ilasamaja, Mushin, Lagos, Nigeria, offering comprehensive education from crèche through secondary school levels. We are currently seeking an enthusiastic, qualified, and experienced Biology Teacher to join our dynamic team of educators and contribute to our tradition of academic excellence.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver well-structured and engaging Biology lessons to secondary school students in accordance with the Nigerian and British curricula.
- Develop comprehensive lesson plans, instructional materials, and schemes of work to suit diverse learning styles.
- Conduct practical laboratory sessions, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and hands-on scientific exploration.
- Assess, monitor, and record students' academic progress, providing constructive feedback and targeted support.
- Maintain a positive, inclusive, and disciplined classroom environment that fosters critical thinking and curiosity.
- Participate actively in school events, parent-teacher conferences, departmental meetings, and extracurricular activities.
- Bachelor of Education (B.Ed), B.Sc with PGDE, or equivalent degree in Biology or a related scientific discipline from a recognized institution.
- Minimum of 2 to 4 years of proven teaching experience in a reputable secondary school setting.
- Strong knowledge of secondary school Biology curricula and modern pedagogical techniques.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.
- Passionate about youth development, with a strong commitment to academic and moral excellence.
- Residency in or close proximity to Ilasamaja, Mushin, or surrounding areas in Lagos is an added advantage.
