About the Role
Alaro City is a world-class, mixed-income, city-scale development featuring designated zones for offices, logistics, warehousing, residential communities, healthcare, and educational facilities across Lagos, Nigeria. We are currently looking for a dynamic and analytical Billing Officer to oversee the accurate administration of customer accounts for essential utilities including electricity, water, sewerage, gas, and fiber internet services. In this role, you will ensure seamless meter data processing, billing generation, customer account management, payment monitoring, and service activation while upholding the highest standards of data integrity and customer satisfaction within our fast-paced start-up environment.
Key Responsibilities- Generate accurate monthly bills across all utility entities including electricity, water, sewerage, internet services, and gas using ecWIN7 and Sage 300.
- Serve as the primary Alaro Utilities customer liaison officer, efficiently addressing and resolving customer utility inquiries and complaints.
- Execute daily and weekly gas volume nominations accurately and manage end-to-end gas shipping processes alongside volume reconciliations.
- Process authorized utilities billing adjustments, credits, and corrections while identifying and escalating metering discrepancies promptly.
- Review customer applications, create and maintain comprehensive customer accounts, and administer information regarding tariffs and service statuses.
- Monitor incoming payments through approved channels, follow up on overdue accounts, generate statements, and reconcile billing records.
- Prepare comprehensive monthly billing performance reports and maintain accurate scheduling for all utility customers.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in billing, preferably within a utility setting or energy sector.
- Proficiency in ERP software such as Sage 300 and specialized billing platforms like ecWIN7.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with strong numerical, analytical, and reconciliation capabilities.
- Familiarity with the Nigerian Gas Network Code (NGNC) and energy balancing principles.
- Exceptional customer service orientation combined with a meticulous, detail-oriented approach to operational tasks.
