About the Role
Cobranet Limited, a leading and reliable Internet Service Provider in Nigeria founded in 2003, is looking for a results-driven Billing and Accounts Receivable Manager. In this crucial finance role, you will lead our credit control function, manage commercial and consumer debt recovery, and enforce robust credit policies to support our continued market leadership and high-performance standards.
Key Responsibilities- Manage, mentor, and evaluate a dedicated team of Credit Control Officers to maximize debt recovery and operational efficiency.
- Formulate and implement comprehensive company credit policies to mitigate financial risks and exposure.
- Review credit applications and references to determine appropriate credit limits and assess customer creditworthiness.
- Prepare accurate journal entries, credit notes, and actively assist with month-end financial closing processes.
- Review and generate detailed reports on Aged Debtors to track collection progress and highlight potential risks.
- Negotiate and manage relationships with third-party debt collection agencies for escalated cases.
- Manage bad debt provisions, write-offs, and structure manageable payment plans for clients.
- Continuously review and improve billing procedures to systematically reduce debtor days and improve cash flow.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in end-to-end billing, accounts receivable, and credit control domains.
- Demonstrated experience in staff management and leadership within a finance environment.
- Working knowledge of Nigerian credit laws and financial regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting software packages and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Exceptional negotiation, conflict resolution, and communication skills for handling difficult client interactions.
