About the Role
The Alliance for International Medical Action (ALIMA) is looking for a skilled and committed Base Logistician to join our dynamic team in Nigeria. In this critical role, you will supervise daily logistics activities, maintain facilities and equipment, and ensure the smooth running of our humanitarian medical operations in emergency situations.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise daily logistics operations, facilities management, and minor rehabilitation works for offices and guest houses.
- Manage non-medical stocks, assets tagging, warehousing, and the complete local procurement life cycle in compliance with ALIMA standards.
- Oversee fleet and transport management, including vehicle maintenance, fuel consumption tracking, and driver scheduling.
- Ensure strict adherence to safety and security protocols across all premises and coordinate with local security contacts.
- Maintain communication and IT systems, including server maintenance and computer backups.
- Manage support staff such as drivers and security guards, fostering a protective environment aligned with ALIMA policies.
- Essential secondary education accompanied by a technical diploma or relevant technical university degree.
- At least 2 to 3 years of proven professional experience in logistics-related activities.
- Previous working experience with ALIMA or other international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) is highly desirable.
- Strong organizational, negotiation, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure.
