We are currently seeking an innovative C# Backend Engineer II who is passionate about designing secure, scalable, and high-performing financial technology solutions. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in shaping the technical direction of our platform, driving engineering excellence, and powering next-generation financial products and digital payments for our growing client base in Nigeria and beyond.
Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable applications using C# and .NET technologies.
- Build and optimize high-performance APIs, microservices, and backend systems tailored for fintech products.
- Develop robust solutions for payment processing, transaction management, reconciliations, settlements, and financial reporting.
- Participate actively in architecture discussions and contribute to critical technical design decisions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product, frontend, and QA to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following strict industry best practices.
- Conduct thorough code reviews and mentor junior engineers to ensure high engineering standards.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve production issues efficiently while ensuring minimal system downtime.
- Implement backend controls supporting PCI-DSS compliance and ensure data handling aligns with the Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA) 2023.
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional software engineering experience with a strong focus on backend development within the fintech industry.
- Expert-level proficiency in C# and the .NET ecosystem.
- Demonstrated experience in building and optimizing secure APIs and microservices.
- Solid understanding of payment gateways, transaction management, and financial reporting systems.
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as PCI-DSS and NDPA compliance.
