About the Role

We are currently seeking a skilled and dedicated Automobile Technician to oversee our fleet operations and workshop activities in Nigeria. In this critical role, you will ensure that all factory vehicles are fully operational, safe, and deployed efficiently to support our large-scale industrial projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise daily activities of the automobile unit, including drivers and mechanics.
  • Plan and oversee the deployment, scheduling, and efficient resource allocation of factory vehicles.
  • Ensure all assigned vehicles are operational, regularly serviced, and ready for use.
  • Coordinate comprehensive preventive and corrective maintenance schedules.
  • Maintain up-to-date and accurate service, repair, and fuel consumption records.
  • Liaise with mechanics and external vendors for prompt spare parts procurement and repair support.
  • Manage driver schedules, performance, and strict adherence to transport policies.
  • Enforce HSE (Health, Safety and Environment) standards and traffic regulations across all operations.
  • Prepare and submit regular fleet performance and expenditure reports to the HOD-Engineering.
  • Implement cost-saving measures while tracking automobile expenditures.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automobile Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 5 to 7 years of relevant experience in automobile maintenance, fleet management, or workshop supervision, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Strong working knowledge of vehicle maintenance, diagnostics, and workshop operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and implement effective preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Proficiency in record keeping, cost tracking, and logistics coordination.
  • Exceptional leadership, supervisory, and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving abilities.
  • High attention to detail with an uncompromising commitment to workplace safety standards.
