About the Role
Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company, Nigeria's leading power distribution provider, seeks an experienced Audit Specialist to strengthen organizational governance and ensure regulatory compliance. This role supports the Internal Audit function by conducting comprehensive, independent reviews of technical, commercial, and financial processes to identify risks, control gaps, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities- Support development and execution of the annual audit plan
- Lead field audit teams during engagements and coordinate activities with departments and stakeholders
- Audit financial, commercial, and operational processes for compliance with policies and standards
- Assess organizational risks and recommend effective mitigation strategies
- Review audit findings and provide practical corrective action recommendations
- Ensure adherence to internal audit methodologies and professional standards
- Manage audit fieldwork, maintain complete documentation, and follow up on implementation
- Audit technical operations, maintenance, and project processes for regulatory compliance
- Perform additional duties as assigned by departmental leadership
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or relevant discipline
- Professional Chartered Accountant certification (ACA, ACCA, or CIA) required
- Minimum 6 years post-qualification experience in energy, power, financial, or manufacturing sectors
- Strong understanding of internal audit standards and governance frameworks
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
