About the Role
The African Medical Centre of Excellence (AMCE) Abuja is a premier 500-bed specialty hospital offering world-class diagnostics and treatment, developed by Afreximbank in partnership with Kings College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Audiologist to provide comprehensive diagnostic, rehabilitative, and preventive hearing and balance services for our adult and paediatric patients. In this vital role, you will perform advanced assessments, fit hearing technologies, counsel patients, and collaborate with ENT specialists to deliver exceptional, patient-centred care across the African continent.
Key Responsibilities- Perform otoscopic examinations, pure-tone and speech audiometry, tympanometry, and otoacoustic emissions testing.
- Conduct advanced electrophysiological and vestibular assessments for dizziness, tinnitus, and hearing disorders.
- Select, programme, verify, and fit hearing aids and assistive listening devices using recognised clinical protocols.
- Develop individualised aural rehabilitation and management plans for adult and paediatric patients.
- Collaborate closely with ENT surgeons, neurologists, paediatricians, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Maintain audiological equipment, infection control standards, and accurate clinical documentation.
- Bachelor's degree in Audiology, Speech Therapy and Audiology, or an equivalent recognised qualification (Master's or clinical doctorate is an advantage).
- Current registration with the Medical Rehabilitation Therapists Board of Nigeria (MRTB) and a valid practising licence.
- Minimum of 5 years of post-qualification clinical experience in a tertiary or specialist hospital environment.
- Demonstrated expertise in both adult and paediatric diagnostic audiology and hearing-device fitting.
