About the Role
Innovations for Poverty Action (IPA) is a leading research and policy nonprofit dedicated to discovering and promoting effective solutions to global poverty problems. We are currently seeking a dynamic and analytical Associate Research and Policy Manager to join our team in Nigeria. In this role, you will collaborate closely with key sector partners and government stakeholders to strengthen their monitoring, evaluation, and learning capacity, while fostering a sustainable culture of data-driven decision-making and evidence generation.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the co-creation of policy-driven research agendas and manage end-to-end research projects with rigorous analytical frameworks.
- Provide hands-on technical leadership in collecting, cleaning, structuring, and analyzing large administrative and survey datasets.
- Design, build, and maintain interactive data visualization tools, dashboards, and automated reporting systems using platforms like Power BI, Tableau, Stata, R, or Python.
- Facilitate capacity-building workshops to train partner staff in data engineering, analytics, and reproducible workflows.
- Produce high-quality policy briefs, user-friendly data summaries, and evidence-based reports to inform high-level program design and delivery.
- Cultivate strong relationships with local decision-makers, academic experts, and international stakeholders to ensure sustained project buy-in.
- Manage project workplans, financial oversight, internal tracking, and donor reporting while coordinating activities seamlessly across teams.
- Master’s degree in International Public Policy, Economics, Statistics, Data Science, Social Sciences, or a related field.
- 5 to 7 years of relevant professional experience in research, policy, or data-driven development sectors.
- Strong proficiency in statistical software such as Stata, R, or Python, alongside proven dashboard design experience using Power BI or Tableau.
- Demonstrated expertise in managing large, complex datasets and implementing robust Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) frameworks.
- Exceptional project management skills with a proven track record of coordinating multiple stakeholders and meeting deliverable targets.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical analyses into actionable insights for non-technical audiences.
- Experience collaborating with government institutions, regulatory agencies, or top-level policymakers is highly desirable.
