About the Role
Margaret Lawrence University (MLU) is a prestigious private institution established in 2022, dedicated to academic excellence, innovative research, and impactful community service. We are currently seeking a dynamic, qualified, and highly motivated professional to take on the role of Associate Professor/Reader in the Department of Anaesthesia within our Faculty of Clinical Sciences. The position is based at our modern Medical Campus located at Rivers Park Estate, Airport Road, Lugbe District, Abuja.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging, high-quality lectures and practical training to undergraduate and postgraduate medical students in the Department of Anaesthesia.
- Conduct impactful, peer-reviewed research and contribute significantly to the academic standing of the university.
- Provide expert clinical services and supervision at the university's affiliated teaching hospital facilities.
- Mentor and guide students, junior faculty members, and resident doctors in their academic and professional development.
- Participate actively in curriculum development, departmental meetings, faculty boards, and institutional committees.
- Engage in community service initiatives and foster partnerships with relevant medical and academic bodies.
- Must possess an MBBS or BDS as a first degree from a recognized and accredited institution.
- Must hold relevant postgraduate medical fellowship qualifications appropriate for the rank of Associate Professor/Reader.
- Demonstrable and progressive teaching, research, clinical, and scholarly experience commensurate with the applied rank.
- Strong portfolio of academic publications in reputable peer-reviewed national and international journals.
- Active registration with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN) or relevant professional regulatory body, alongside a valid practicing licence.
- Proven capacity for academic leadership, student mentorship, and collaborative institutional service.
- All submitted academic and professional credentials must be verifiable.
