About the Role
Federal University Lafia was established in February 2011 with the mandate to increase access and quality of university education in Nigeria. Located in the capital of Nasarawa State, the institution boasts a rapidly expanding academic community comprising multiple faculties and comprehensive undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. We are currently seeking a dynamic and accomplished Associate Professor of Mathematics within the Faculty of Physical Sciences to drive our academic and research excellence forward.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging, high-quality lectures and instruction to undergraduate and postgraduate students in Mathematics.
- Conduct cutting-edge research and publish scholarly articles in reputable national and international academic journals.
- Supervise Masters and Ph.D. students through their research theses and dissertations.
- Contribute to curriculum development and academic administration within the Faculty of Physical Sciences.
- Participate actively in departmental, faculty, and university-wide committees and university service initiatives.
- Must currently hold the rank of Associate Professor or equivalent at a recognized university.
- Possess a Ph.D. in Mathematics or a highly relevant academic field.
- Demonstrate a strong record of outstanding and continuing teaching experience in a university environment.
- Must have a minimum of fifteen (15) scholarly publications in reputable international and national journals.
- Proven track record of successfully supervising Ph.D. and Masters students to completion.
