About the Role
Wellspring University, a prestigious institution founded on Christian ethics and principles, is seeking a dynamic and accomplished academic to join our Faculty of Social and Management Sciences as an Associate Professor in Mass Communication. Located in Benin City, Edo State, our institution is dedicated to moulding well-rounded, morally upright scholars equipped to drive national development through intellectual excellence and innovative media practices.
Key Responsibilities- Teach, mentor, and assess undergraduate and postgraduate students in Mass Communication and related media studies.
- Supervise postgraduate research projects, including Master's theses and PhD dissertations.
- Conduct high-impact, peer-reviewed research and publish in reputable, indexed national and international academic journals.
- Provide robust academic leadership within the department, contributing to curriculum development and departmental growth.
- Engage in community service, academic administration, and institutional accreditation processes.
- Foster strategic partnerships and collaborations with industry professionals and international academic institutions.
- Must possess a PhD Degree in Mass Communication or a closely related academic discipline.
- Minimum of eight (8) years of cognate university teaching, research, and administrative experience.
- A strong, verifiable track record of peer-reviewed publications in reputable academic journals.
- Demonstrated capacity and experience in postgraduate teaching and supervision.
- Proven evidence of academic leadership, administrative competence, and excellent interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in ICT-driven teaching methods and modern educational technology.
- Current professional registration and valid practising licenses where applicable.
