About the Role
Federal University Lafia, a dynamic institution established in 2011 with a commitment to academic excellence and high-quality tertiary education, is currently seeking a suitably qualified and driven academic to fill the position of Associate Professor in Human Physiology. Located in the vibrant capital of Nasarawa State, our institution boasts a rapidly expanding academic community comprising a College of Medicine, multiple specialized schools, and numerous undergraduate and postgraduate programmes designed to shape the future of healthcare and scientific research in Nigeria.
Key Responsibilities- Teach, mentor, and inspire undergraduate and postgraduate students within the Department of Human Physiology.
- Supervise Masters and Ph.D. research projects to foster cutting-edge scientific inquiry.
- Conduct high-impact research and publish scholarly articles in reputable national and international peer-reviewed journals.
- Participate in curriculum development, departmental administration, and academic committee assignments.
- Contribute to community engagement initiatives and institutional advancement aligned with the university mandate.
- Must currently hold the rank of Associate Professor or be an established academic ready for progression with extensive university teaching experience.
- Possess a Ph.D. in Human Physiology or a closely related relevant field from a recognized university.
- Demonstrate a strong record of outstanding and continuing academic achievement in teaching and research.
- Must have a minimum of fifteen (15) scholarly publications in reputable national and international journals.
- Proven track record of successfully supervising postgraduate students at both the Masters and Ph.D. levels.
