About the Role
The American University of Nigeria (AUN) in Yola, Adamawa State, is seeking a dynamic and accomplished academic to join our esteemed faculty as an Associate Professor or Full Professor in the School of Information Technology and Computing. As Africa's first Development University, we offer an American-style education focused on technology, critical thinking, and sustainable societal impact. We are looking for a dedicated educator and researcher who can inspire the next generation of African tech leaders and contribute to our vibrant, wireless, IT-driven campus community.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging, high-quality instruction in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Data Science, or Cybersecurity.
- Support student learning and engagement both inside and outside the classroom through active mentorship and academic advising.
- Engage in continuous, high-impact research that promotes personal professional development and advances the university's strategic goals.
- Contribute meaningfully to AUN's signature community service and regional development initiatives.
- Participate actively in department, school, and all-college faculty meetings to ensure smooth administrative operations.
- Supervise undergraduate, master's, and PhD student research projects.
- Ph.D. in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Software Engineering, or Cybersecurity from a reputable university.
- Minimum of nine (9) years of post-PhD university teaching, research, postdoctoral, or relevant industry experience.
- Verifiable record of scholarly publications in reputable, peer-reviewed academic journals.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in academic, research, or administrative activities.
- Proven experience supervising undergraduate and graduate students.
- Proficiency in utilizing advanced ICT tools and e-resources for modern teaching and research.
