About the Role
The Federal University Lafia invites dynamic and accomplished academic leaders to apply for the position of Associate Professor in Fisheries and Aquaculture within our esteemed Faculty of Agriculture. Established in 2011, our institution is committed to expanding access to quality university education and fostering cutting-edge research in Nigeria. As an Associate Professor, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of agricultural scientists, driving innovative research, and contributing to the academic development of our growing university community located in Lafia, Nasarawa State.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging, high-quality lectures and courses in Fisheries and Aquaculture to undergraduate and postgraduate students.
- Supervise M.Sc. and Ph.D. research students, providing rigorous academic mentorship and guidance.
- Conduct impactful, peer-reviewed research and publish findings in reputable national and international journals.
- Contribute to curriculum development and enhancement within the Faculty of Agriculture.
- Participate in departmental, faculty, and university-wide administrative duties and committees.
- Engage in community service and institutional advancement initiatives aligned with the university mandate.
- Must currently hold the rank of Associate Professor or be an established academic ready for progression.
- Possess a Ph.D. in Fisheries, Aquaculture, or a closely related relevant field from a recognized university.
- Demonstrate a strong portfolio of teaching experience at the university level.
- Must have a minimum of fifteen (15) scholarly publications in reputable international and national academic journals.
- Proven track record of successfully supervising postgraduate students at both Master's and Ph.D. levels.
