About the Role
Godfrey Okoye University Teaching Hospital (GOUNITH), formerly Ntasi Obi Hospital, is a premier medical institution dedicated to excellence in patient care, research, and education. We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and dedicated Assistant Store Officer to join our Procurement and Store Unit. In this role, you will play a vital part in maintaining efficient inventory systems, supporting hospital operations, and ensuring that medical and administrative supplies are accurately tracked and readily available to healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities- Receive, inspect, and store incoming medical supplies, equipment, and general office inventory
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date digital inventory records using hospital management software
- Monitor stock levels and assist in generating timely procurement requests to prevent stockouts
- Conduct routine physical stock counts and reconcile discrepancies with system records
- Issue approved materials and supplies to various hospital departments efficiently
- Ensure proper organization, cleanliness, and safety compliance within the storage facilities
- Minimum of an Ordinary National Diploma (OND) in Business Studies or a related field
- Relevant post-qualification experience in storekeeping, inventory management, or procurement
- Must be fully ICT compliant with proficiency in spreadsheet software and database management
- Demonstrated integrity, professionalism, and strong organizational skills
- Excellent interpersonal abilities with the capacity to thrive in a fast-paced multidisciplinary healthcare environment
- Possession of relevant professional certifications or registration with regulatory bodies where applicable
