About the Role

Stella Maris Schools is a well-established private educational institution in the FCT, providing nursery, primary, and secondary education. We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Assistant Project Manager (IT) to support the planning, execution, monitoring, and successful delivery of IT projects across the school.

You will work closely with the IT Manager and various stakeholders to coordinate project activities, manage timelines and budgets, document progress, and ensure projects are completed within scope while supporting the school's strategic objectives. This role requires excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple technology initiatives simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in planning, coordinating, and monitoring IT projects from initiation to completion
  • Develop project schedules, work plans, milestones, and implementation timelines
  • Prepare weekly and monthly status reports; maintain project documentation and dashboards
  • Identify project risks and issues; escalate delays and concerns to the IT Manager
  • Liaise with school leadership, departments, vendors, and consultants throughout project lifecycles
  • Support deployment of hardware, software, and digital learning solutions
  • Coordinate user acceptance testing, system rollouts, upgrades, and migrations
  • Monitor vendor performance and assist in evaluating quotations
  • Assist in budget monitoring and resource planning for IT initiatives
  • Support user training, change management, and adoption activities
  • Ensure projects comply with school policies, data protection, and cybersecurity requirements
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Project Management, or related field
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in IT project coordination or technology implementation
  • Proficiency with project management tools (Microsoft Project, Trello, Asana, Jira, or Monday.com)
  • Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication abilities
  • Proven stakeholder management and team collaboration experience
  • Project management certification (PMP, CAPM, PRINCE2, or Agile) preferred
  • Educational institution experience is an advantage
