About the Role
Vitafoam Nigeria Plc, the country's leading producer of foam products and lifestyle goods, is looking for a meticulous Assistant Manager, Quality Assurance for our Jos Factory. In this critical role, you will champion our commitment to excellence by driving robust quality management systems and ensuring that every product meets our rigorous standards from raw material to finished goods.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee rigorous testing of all incoming chemical raw materials including Polyol, TDI, catalysts, and additives to verify purity and viscosity before storage.
- Monitor and control critical parameters during continuous and batch foaming operations to ensure correct chemical formulation ratios.
- Lead the physical testing of cured foam blocks and finished products, verifying consistent density and structural integrity.
- Manage Jos factory laboratory operations, ensuring all testing apparatuses, scales, and compression machines remain properly calibrated.
- Lead investigations into manufacturing non-conformities such as splits and density drift, implementing definitive corrective and preventive actions.
- Collaborate with production teams to monitor and reduce cutting waste rates and chemical reaction variance, optimizing material yield.
- Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science, or a related scientific discipline.
- 5 to 8 years of active quality assurance and control experience within a structured manufacturing environment.
- Active membership in professional bodies such as the Chemical Society of Nigeria or Institute of Public Analysts of Nigeria is an advantage.
- Certifications in Quality Management like ISO 9001 Lead Auditor or ASQ CQE are highly preferred.
