We are seeking a dynamic Assistant Manager for Laboratory and Diagnostics to join our dedicated team and support our mission of bridging the gap between patients and quality healthcare services across Nigeria.
In this pivotal role, you will supervise laboratory staff, manage external quality assurance programs, and drive our path towards ISO 15189:2022 and JCI Ambulatory Standard accreditation. You'll combine operational excellence with patient-centric service delivery to maintain the highest standards of laboratory diagnostics.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise and manage laboratory scientists and technicians
- Develop and implement Quality Management Systems (QMS) with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and policies for ISO 15189 compliance
- Manage External Quality Assurance programs and investigate non-conformities
- Setup and maintain the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) for specimen tracking and result reporting
- Acquire new customers and expand service areas to drive revenue growth
- Manage procurement of tests, consumables, and inventory
- Conduct equipment maintenance, calibration, and quality control verification
- Support HR with recruitment, onboarding, and staff development
- Prepare laboratory performance and quality reports for executive review
- Maintain professional licensure through continuing professional development
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Laboratory Science from an accredited university
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a medical laboratory, clinic, or hospital setting
- Current practicing license and AMLSCN certification
- Additional training in molecular diagnostic techniques (PCR) preferred
- Strong knowledge of quality management systems and accreditation standards
- Excellent leadership, communication, and customer service skills
