About the Role

APM Terminals is a global leader in port and terminal operations, providing critical infrastructure and supply chain solutions across the globe. We are currently looking for a driven and detail-oriented Assistant Logistics Manager to join our dynamic team in Nigeria. In this role, you will support the Logistics Manager in planning, coordinating, and executing import and logistics operations, with a strong focus on regulatory compliance, cost efficiency, and timely shipment delivery. You will work within a collaborative, multinational environment that values continuous improvement, professional growth, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage end-to-end import logistics operations, ensuring timely shipment clearance and delivery while strictly maintaining agreed lead times.
  • Maintain accurate import documentation and full compliance with local requirements, including Form M, PAAR, and SONCAP.
  • Resolve critical operational issues such as clearance bottlenecks, manifest errors, shipment discrepancies, and documentation gaps.
  • Coordinate activities seamlessly across Asset Maintenance, Warehouse, Finance, suppliers, freight forwarders, customs agents, and regulatory bodies.
  • Identify operational inefficiencies and implement continuous improvements that strengthen turnaround time, data accuracy, cost efficiency, and overall reliability.
  • Monitor changes in import laws and regulations to ensure strict compliance with international, national, and local requirements, alongside internal guidelines.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in import or logistics operations within a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of Nigerian import regulations and systems, including NCS, SON, and NSW.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities with the capacity to manage shipment delays, regulatory requirements, and documentation risks independently.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.
  • A proactive, continuous improvement mindset with a passion for driving sustainable operational efficiencies.
